Weapon kit

if you have a lot of these chips and have the ability to purchase weapon repair kits you can stock up on the kits and use them to repair weapons before you sell them for a HUGE gain in caps. 3 weapon repair kits brings a 200cap weapon to almost 5000 and i buy 100kits at a time so its a great way to earn caps for GRA weapons and mods.

Chips as random loot?

I happened to find one of these chips while looting a dead body in the Scorpion_burrow, wondering if anyone else has found a chip like this outside of the add-on? Not sure if it's common enough to be worth mentioning (or if its just a set event, one other person did mention it)

The Scorpion Burrow mystery

There is at least one other person that has found one or more Sierra Madre chips in this area (more than enough to at least mention it, I'd say), could someone check the bodies there in the GECK to see why these spawn or if they spawn elsewhere?

I checked the GECK, can't find it in an NPC with just the base game installed. Jspoel 12:52, April 19, 2017 (UTC)

Have you checked inside their leveled item objects after looking through the Dead Money Master File? I have a feeling that the chips may have been placed inside one of the caps-based leveled items as a low chance drop... Sovngarde195 21:47, May 30th, 2017 (UTC)
