Strange that this armor isn't a disguise

Not that I'm complaining. I love being able to wear this a roam free near the NCR without them turning hostile (I haven't made them allies with the Bos yet) but it seems strange that every other faction's armor is a disguise but this one.

i guess you are using the armor the BOS give to you in their questline? It is not marked as a disguise however the armour that the BOS NPCs use actually look slightly different(slight color difference and a BOS shoulder patch) and will work as a disguise. I guess all the NPCs can see that you don't hav that shoulder tag no matter their distance to you :P--Leonick 04:55, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
It's not "slightly" different, it's significantly different. More than just a shoulder patch. --Kris User Hola 05:26, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
well the non faction is slightly darker gray and with a kinda green chest so that is a slight color variation, it's not like the model is different or anything--Leonick 08:36, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, the model is very different. This is T-45d, the BoS faction armor is T-51b. There IS a NCR faction armor that looks like this one, but it's clearly painted in NCR colors. It sounds like you're referring to the non-faction T-51b, but that's not what this page is about. --Kris User Hola 11:35, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
ah, sorry my mistake messed up the numbers... Hmm well then that is kinda strange, though how many BOS in Vegas use the 45b? Therea are some in the game i am sure most use the newer one witch is probably why the 45d isn't recognised as A BOS disguise. Or Bethesda simply didn't want every good piece of armour to be a disguise just like the recon armour isn't. --Leonick 16:43, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
The only NPCs that I've seen in T-45d are the NCR heavy troopers; but the Brotherhood does sell them. --Kris User Hola 18:09, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
There's a bug that causes all of the T-45d suits in the game to have the BoS emblem, and the actual BoS faction T-45d armor doesn't spawn. That's why you'll see BoS npcs wearing the T-45 helmet with the T-51b body. There's a mod on the nexus that fixes it. --24.63.83.52 10:41, July 7, 2015 (UTC)

there is a brother hood paladin wearing a T-45b helmet in Elder Nolan McNamara's office one paladin at the door is wearing the T-45 helmet and they alternate. quitestrange. The T-45d has less DT than the T-51b so it makes sens to were than 51b wen your not carrying much were as the 45 has +2 ST and 51 has only +1 ST so that would probably be worn wile traveling long distance and the NCR armor is salvaged from the HELIOS one battle were the brother hood weren't planning on staying for very long and planned to hove very soon to the damn and wouldn't have changed there armor so wen they were killed the NCR would only have got the 45d armor witch they removed the power from making it completely inferior to any other power armor [[[User:SlyRatchet|SlyRatchet]] 01:07, January 2, 2011 (UTC)]

Strange and ironic

Its weird how in fallout 3 it is very common and T-51b is very rare but in new vegas it is the other way around.

that is because the capital wastland chapter found one hundred suits of T-45d in the citadel wen they arrived and i think for the same reason has in the section above they were T-45d for traveling due to it's increased strength over the T-51b.Betheste probable wanted a change so they so they also change the common armor types as well has making power armor extremely rare SlyRatchet 22:13, December 29, 2010 (UTC)

Linking pages?

Should this page be linked to the brotherhood version ? As far as i know, there are two kinds of t-45,one gives the disguise but one doesnt.--60.50.255.38 05:02, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

Questline armor

I understand that the set you get for completing McNamara's questline is not the brotherhood version, what I am wondering about is there any indication as to whether this is intentional? As you would expect if there is a brotherhood version that would be the one given, frankly with all the t-51 they have lying about it really should have been one of those instead.

'Thanks for completing all that work for me, join the brotherhood, here is a set of really old, really poor condition armor that doesn't count you as one of us' 94.8.24.204 14:22, September 25, 2015 (UTC)
