Missing something

Am I missing something here, or is this actually worse then the regular Combat Knife? --64.203.158.182 22:24, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

It does 2 less damage than the regular combat knife,so yes,it is worse, but is handy if you want a cool lookking blade, but if you want a better lookign weapon, get jingweis shock sword(or two of them) Werewolfhell 12:54, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

no point whatsoever

i dont see any point of making this weapon. really come one, there is no difference in weapon expect the appearance.--That70sdude 22:31, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Variety is the spice of life. 68.49.187.181 06:23, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Right... instead of all these different weapons, Bethesda should have made one pistol with "Small Guns Weapon" stamped on the side of it. Then, when you get a bit higher in level, you can find a big rectangle attached to a plain backpack, and that one is called "Big Guns Weapon." Instead of flames, missiles, or bullets, it just shoots big circles that say "damage" toward the enemies. Speaking of enemies, why are there so many different kinds? Aren't they all basically just little bits of computer code that are trying to damage your character? What does it matter what they look like? We should just have two kinds... a little four-legged ant / rat / zombie / raider thing that's just called "Easy Enemy," and for tougher encounters, a big super-mutated, power-armored lizard called "Hard Enemy." Think of all the time and energy that Bethesda could have saved by doing things the smart way! Way to go, Bethesda. Crazy, making all these things look different!! I mean, a weapon is a weapon, and all that matters is the stats. I just HATE it when they go around breathing life into a game like this. The last thing I want is an immersive, entertaining experience... I mean, that's what I have a full-time job for. Who needs that at home?? I hate them for adding junk like this and ruining an otherwise awesome number-comparing program like Fallout 3. (Don't take my sarcasm personally, dude, I'm just having a lol. :) 12.204.48.130 08:19, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

I guess...

I guess it is only really useful for the custom weapon achievement...

--Streetbackguy 22:38, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

wait, what do you mean? this weapon is not a custom weapon nor is it a component for a custom weapon. so how is it useful for the custom weapon achievement.--That70sdude 17:38, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

wait a second

did the article say that there is a chance of a instant kill? suddenly, it becomes a lot more interesting (RG)

Damage

Don't know if they changed it, but right now (in my game, at least) it's identical to the combat knife. Both have the same DAM rating in the Pip-Boy (12), and both do the same damage per hit (12 for a normal, 19 on a power attack, 25 on a critical). So, I moved this here, unless someone can prove it's still true.

  • Oddly enough, it does less damage (when at max condition) than the Combat knife used to repair it. Fiddlesoup 06:11, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
They both deal the same damage for me too. Maybe it's dealing less damage via a bug of some kind that doesn't allow it to receive damage bonuses? I've never created a brawler type character, so I'm not really sure. 68.49.187.181 06:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Unique

Should this weapon be classed as a unique combat knife or a normal weapon?

It's a new weapon, it has a new model, not reskinned. So it's not unique, it's brand new. Gabriel Cortez 14:08, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
If this weapon is unique, Jingwei's Shock Sword must be unique too, unique as in not being a version of Chinese Officers Sword, that is. Icko 20:11, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Schematics claim

Says in the article there were plans for a schematic using Wonderglue, Spiked Knuckles and a Combat Knife. To me, it sounds like someone saw this weapon, thought it kinda looked like that and put it into the article. I suppose further proof would be in the fact it doesn't use junk to make the weapon like the other schematics, but you could go the other way with that and say that's why they removed it. So anyway, I've blabbered a bit. I'm going to remove that piece of the article unless there's solid proof in the game files or dev diaries.

Strange Duplication - I have no idea how.

Firstly, I was moving items from my storage space in megaton to the armory in the Outcast Outpost, and I became Overencumbered. I dropped my chinese stealth armour and various other weapons (Assault Rifle, Laser Rifle, The Dismemberer, Paulsons Revolver, Trench Knife) and fast traveled to the outcast outpost. When I got there I found the chinese stealth armour and trench knife in their original positions when the armory is first openned, and so now I have two trench knives/Chinese Stealth Armours. How did this happen?

Video annoyance

Could someone of wiki-crew, please, tell the guy who made all those long, boring video that it's NOT the right way to present a subject of article. By any means, video of 3 minutes length is more then enough for this purpose, but not the 9-10 minutes of self-satisfied boredom and huge file sizes!
