I propose a slight change to the naming convention for the BoS chapters: Brotherhood of Steel (x chapter), to reflect that they retain the name. So:

Hey not bad =), but I doesn't like "Midwest chapter" and "Capital Wasteland chapter" since they are no longer connected with the original Brotherhood and are independant faction, unlike the Mojave chapter (the words chapter should be associated with this connection). Just "Midwestern" and "Capital Wasteland" sounds better in my opinion. For the original Brotherhood of Steel, just "California" could be nice.
For the "Texas chapter", what I perceive for have played Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, it sounds more like an expedition than a chapter (since it has no head scribe, no head paladin, and its purpose, secondary or not, is not to recover the technology but to destroy the Attis army). Also, it uses two icons, the one traditional of the Brotherhood of Steel, which appears in-game and behind the box, and one with the two pistols, which seems to be the symbol of the expedition, although it never appears in-game, only on some artworks before the released of the game). "Texas expedition" without "Brotherhood of Steel" before its name would be better. Itachou [~talk~] 16:32, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
I like this idea. To be honest, I've never been a fan of the "Capital Wasteland Brotherhood of Steel"-type nomenclature as it's essentially us creating names which can't be found in any source material.
Since there's not really an ingame definition of what constitutes a "chapter", how about simply leaving out that bit? I.e. simply use "Brotherhood of Steel (Midwest)" etc? -- Porter21 (talk) 06:12, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
Good idea. Commence movage? Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 07:14, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
I'm a bit unsure as to what we'd do with the main "Brotherhood of Steel" page. Should we leave the original Californian Brotherhood there, should it simply be a disambig page or should we do something else entirely? -- Porter21 (talk) 07:50, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
It should remain as the overview of the whole Brotherhood, including all the sub-factions. Ausir(talk) 09:54, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

Agree Porter, but well, we have to repair the mistakes committed by some developers. Anyway, a chapter is a sub-section of the original Brotherhood of Steel still connected with it, the proof is that the Capital Wasteland BOS and the Midwestern BOS never used this term of talking about them, unlike the Mojave Chapter - so Brotherhood of Steel (Mojave Chapter) for this of the Mojave (and may be some later) is better I think, for the other is perfect ;). Itachou, are you certain that the Capital Wasteland BoS, at the very least, are unaffiliated with Lost Hills? Emil Pagliarulo's faction profile states that "the ruling Elders made the only decision they could – they would still recognize Elder Lyons as a leader of the Brotherhood of Steel, and the Citadel as their D.C. headquarters. But all support from the West Coast was thereby cut off. If Lyons wanted to pursue his own agenda on the East Coast, he would do it alone", and that "The Capital Wasteland division of the Brotherhood of Steel, headquartered in the Citadel, became its own entity: still affiliated with the Brotherhood of Steel on the West Coast, and bound by its laws and customs, but otherwise completely independent". --Lugiatm (talk · contribs) 00:11, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

"But all support from the West Coast was thereby cut off" - "became its own entity" says it all, nothing to say more. Itachou [~talk~] 15:32, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

There's all manner of argument to be had regarding the relationship between the Midwest/Capital BoS and the western organization. I think it would be best to sidestep the issue entirely and just refer to them as "Brotherhood of Steel (California)", "Brotherhood of Steel (Capital Wasteland)", etc. Hal10k (Leonard Bernstein!) 04:39, June 19, 2011 (UTC)

The rename of pages are already done, but anyway " Brotherhood of Steel (Original) " seems to better understanding I think, we must not forget that it is the principal and the others splinter factions (not chapter) are former plots of itself. Itachou [~talk~] 17:07, June 22, 2011 (UTC)

I'd simply keep the info on the original Brotherhood in the main Brotherhood of Steel article, and not make it a separate chapter article. Ausir(talk) 17:15, June 22, 2011 (UTC)

I like the idea. Maybe the "Brotherhood of Steel" page could contain the common history (Maxson leaving Mariposa) and a brief outline of each chapter. Agent c 13:58, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

Actually only the Mojave is a chapter, the other are splinter factions since they don't are anymore linked with the original and each ignores the other. Anyway I like your idea, the "Brotherhood of Steel" article should contain all information about the Brotherhood, its chapter and splinter factions (with not many details), and the original Brotherhood of Steel should have its own page.
