United States Pacific Fleet was a United States Navy theater-level command responsible for operations in the Pacific Ocean.
Background
In March of 2076, the President ordered the Pacific Fleet to move to the Poseidon Oil Rig, citing concerns over Chinese naval exercises in the area. The Chinese government denied any hostile intentions.[1] However, this information is from the Sierra Depot GNN transcript, which is an unreliable source.[2]
On October 23, 2077, the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT in DEFCON status reports) reported three Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs), likely Chinese nuclear submarines, massing for a first strike off the coast of California.[3]
