Re:Randomised

Oops, I didn't see that. I only meant the T-51 wasn't randomised. Let me know of your findings. ----Skire (talk) 01:59, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

What an unfortunate coincidence... my PS3 is broken and I sent it in for repairs (should be back in around a week). Perhaps we could get J to check it? --Skire (talk) 18:31, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

NL

I'm pretty much done with it. I (or others) may come up with a few extra's once the forum thread is set up. You can go ahead with that now. You can copy the items from my sandbox (without the numbers I think) to it and make it admin/mod/patrol only. Don't make it a vote, just that people can add comments. Then after enough input Clyde and me can determine the final list. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 17:31, May 30, 2012 (UTC)

Good enough for me. I'll wait for a bit more then, no problem. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:30, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

NUN

Hi Leon, thanks for signing up to the NUN.

Was wondering if you may be able to help the project with the NUN welcome message. I'm looking for a couple of templates, one a generic welcome that asks basically what time zone are you in, what time are you likely to be on, what games you like and if you have any special interests to help pair someone, and one to follow that which links to the mentor once they've been paired. Notable loot page

I changed my mind about who letting in on the forum thread. Let all have their say, I have a feeling Clyde won't agree with it anyway. And I don't want the attention diverged away from the subject; people would likely comment more on why they are excluded than on the issue itself with a chance of another disruption. I've had enough of that. We'll manage I think. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 11:17, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

We can see how the forum thread turn out. I'm not sure a vote is even needed, when there a just a few serious additions and otherwise a general agreement on things, this might do. Also like to hear Clyde's opinion. And are you still up? It must be 6 o'clock in the morning where you're living now. Get some sleep! Jspoel Speech Jspoel 11:25, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
I guess you can get away with a night without sleep when you're 20 :) I removed your admin/mod vote only part again. Like I figured, it causes too much controversy. First the debate, then we'll see how to progress. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:47, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
No, no constructive input yet. Well, maybe we can wrap it up soon then. I'll take another look at the consumables now, I may have some additions yet. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 17:41, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Help Setting Up Blog

Hey Garoux, Agent C mentioned you might be able to help me with setting up or at least give pointers on setting the pictures, I'll be placing into a neat format? Any tips or hints with it would be great, and I myself will be most thankful.

P.S.

Also secretly trying to develop the same text-based OS system the Fallout universe uses. Any ideas?.. >_>

Re:Debate

No problem, Leon. I hope my words were considered somewhat constructive, as I expressed my approval of the list as it is. When the discussion is closed and we move on to the vote, there should be more good input. I've also noticed that almost all the posts there do not focus on the actual matter and are actually quite vapid. Unless there is clear opposition we should be able to move on to the next step soon. And finally, I think you're right - the Yessie/Cartman thing and events preceding it has really made any policy changes look outright "bad" for many users, despite not really understanding why. --Skire (talk) 21:16, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Not looking good it seems. Sarahs' reponse and now looking at it live on the HP wiki... Maybe this feature could work, but it would require days of video content to be created before we could even think about accepting it - and for most of our pages we simply aren't going to be able to do that without changing our guidelines...
Why am I saying this to you... preaching to the converted... Talk to you when I get home in an hour or so about the forum thing cos I really don't understand what you're trying to achieve. Agent c 21:40, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

If the ban is down then I have to confess....I was achievement boosting(got 2) but I was mainly trying to get 100 edits by the end of May since I joined the 1st(thought I'd make an accomplishment) and now I realizing that it was pointless. How a common, published pre-War book made its way across a technologically developed country in a non-apocalyptic world is unknown. It is possible that it was published and made its way across a technologically developed country in a non-apocalyptic world.

You were trying to excuse yourself with an inane argument. Now you're completely ignoring my point and threatening me with a ban. What kind of attitude is this? No remorse for saying some crap, instead you're trying to be aggressive here. And you're an admin, an authority person here. Surprising to me. --89.203.186.226 07:07, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Mitchell's house.

I'm going to disagree with you on your edit to Mitchell's House. While those may not qualify as notable loot in many cases, that house serves as a starting beacon for the Courier, new players will find all of that loot extremely valuable.--Bunny2Bubble 00:04, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks man, really means a lot that you enjoyed it. I purely understand why it must be removed. Is there a place where it can go though?

PxMANx01 00:13, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Whatever, it was hopeless endeavor anyway. I guess the new order here is now to remove all content. Great. I'm getting really sick of all this. --Bunny2Bubble 00:38, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Both, Leon. If we were to use the criteria of just listing skill magazines when they are of the same skill and on top of that also in the same location, than we would end up with virtually nothing. So when there are a lot of magazines of different skills in the same location, I want them to be listed. Like on House Resort and on Vault 3 at the top of my head. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:48, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Goodsprings is known for having plenty of skill magazines, not to mention that it's the only starting place in the game. It is not "personal insight". Furthermore, the page has no other notable loot listed anymore (you removed it all) and so this one magazine will not hurt. It will not inspire others to do the same for other locations either, unless the same criteria applies (i.e. large quantity for the location). --Skire (talk) 00:52, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

It stems far beyond the notable loot as well. Every time an anon or a minor user, (The people who usually play the game quite often) try to add a note, it gets removed. Mind you, sometimes they are good notes, they get removed anyway. I remember this time last year the focus was on, how can we add more content?, not, how can we remove more?. I see this not as an issue of being "Lax", but an issue of doing our job, creating as Jspoel calls it, The best wiki around!. I say my efforts are futile because they are. I have no authority, I can only do as I do now and express my opinion on a talk page, but, I can't do anything about it. I don't know what I should do now. I don't even if I'll edit. There really is not point anymore. I don't like removing information, so, it looks like I don't have a place here anymore. I'll just say this all now. This split didn't have to change us, but unfortunately, it did.--Bunny2Bubble 00:59, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Even if most of them are randomised, there is a far-above-average randomisation in the area. But anyway, they should at least all be listed on the main Goodsprings page. Once there, I am fine with it being removed on the Mitchell house page. --Skire (talk) 01:04, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

If it concerns my favorite website, I will be melodramatic if I have to. Sure, the policies have changed, but how they enforced sure has. You seem to be the only one leading this boat towards the seas of no notable loot. I can not grasp what the problem is with listing items at a location. It's helpful, it lets people know what's there. I find it quite funny that the guy who is "all about following the rules to a T" is the one who often breaks the rules on blocks and protections. You act like the notable loot is de-standardizing this place or something. Honestly, I think that's the least of my worries. I was quite upset to see just a whole page's notable loot to be removed, this is where I say enough is enough.--Bunny2Bubble 01:15, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

We aren't discussing Gothemasticator or Limmiegirl, or any other user for that matter, we're discussing you at the moment. As a matter of fact, I'm having a fine day, that doesn't necessarily have to correlate with matters on this website. I'm not going to not "Cause a scene" or "Sever ties" so to speak when there's something that concerns me at hand. No, it's not to my satisfaction. As far as Jspoel being a mediator, I don't know how well that will work. Honestly, you are really the only editor who makes it a point to remove the information. I could understand if an anon added a .32 caliber pistol to a page now and you removed it. When there's a laser pistol and a doctor's bag in Doc Mitchell's house, (which isn't in front of your face mind you) that should stand. It's not harming anything, it's been there for quite a long time. I think the saying should be followed, If something isn't broke, don't fix it.--Bunny2Bubble 01:30, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
If I admit one fault on my part, I will say that I missed those important items in Doc Mitchell's house. I remember coming on as an anon and seeing those things on this article if I recall correctly. Perhaps adding a little more bias on my issue. With that mentality however, why have a Wiki. Everything in our articles is in game correct? So then, why describe them? That's what I'm seeing. We put them in the articles because they are present in the game. We don't take things out just because it's easy for the readers to find. I don't know if you look at our traffic numbers, I haven't looked lately, but last time, we're looking at 500,000 users visiting this website per day for help. Perhaps they were like me, missing all of that loot. It's there for help, are we to start sacrificing the quality of our website over these policies? I don't want it like that. As for what I said about Jspoel, he is a great editor, (Not to say that you are a bad one), he adds a lot of info. So to have someone like him defend all of this removal, may not be the best choice. There a plethora of other users to mediate as well.--Bunny2Bubble 01:44, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
I promised my sister I would take her to the mall. So I'll be back in a little bit. Just so you don't grow wary waiting for a response.--Bunny2Bubble 01:47, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Doctor Mitchell

Hola amigo!
I log in and notice Doc Mitchell has stirred quite a bit of controversy. That's ol' mole-butt for ya. Anyway, if I were to give my two cents on the matter, I personally believe that the Notable Loot deserves to stay. Reasons being:

  • This is the first location of the game. A doctor's bag and laser pistol, by this point in the game, are fairly worthwhile considering you have nothing to begin with.
  • People searching this Wiki for information when they start the game would be interested to know that there is in fact a weapon and useful healing item readily available.

Remember, this Wiki exists first and foremost for the people playing the game! They come here to find help and tips, and I would cite a laser pistol and doctor's bag as pretty helpful at the start of the game. Well, that's what I think anyway. Hope this issue is resolved real quick! Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 04:14, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Here's your image. I reverted you talkpage format. I can't even properly send a mail to you, it's all black. When you're close to leaving (30th), then you can make it something like Porter has or like you have now, but the option of sending a mail should be at least visible. Till then people should be able to reach you as an admin. Added a table of skill magazines to Goodsprings. I'll get back to you on NL later on. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 19:46, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
