Repulsion field[]

I think it would be best to merge Repulsion field with Force field. Ausir 18:44, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Steel Saw/Auto Axe[]

They are different variants of the same base weapon; however, neither of them is unique which is why they are seperated by comma in the template instead of one being put in parentheses. -- Porter21 (talk) 17:47, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

hey[]

How did you make that on your profile? Onipix 18:29, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Explosives[]

Do the explosives appear in your inventory or not?

Reverting the logos[]

The issue lays with how they are displayed on the actual page. Black transparent images on a dark background as not ideal in any way (infobox image), plus there is no need for a large file size (.png) for simple transparency, when being displayed on a white background (in-line image). The images that existed where already good enough for the purpose, and they either didn't benefit or suffered from these newer versions. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:27, August 20, 2011 (UTC) :I would keep an eye out, as once the new infobox with its lighter styling is completed. It would indeed benefit images from being transparent when contained within the infobox image. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:39, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

Fallout Apprentice[]

Hi Mark. The current Apprentice image was custom commissioned by myself (although I intended it for another project sitting on the back burner) and created by Doc Incognito. I'm happy to look at tweaks to it but wholesale replacement not too comfortable with... What sort of thing did you have in mind? Agent c (talk) 13:34, September 17, 2012 (UTC) :Just thinking on this further, Apprentice is about half done now, whereas the Hole is a more or less perpetual feature. I'm looking at doing a widescale refresh on its design, making it less complex, etc. The most recent hole Is here... We have a bit of a scratchpad going here. What I'm thinking is a banner to go across the top to replace the current hole image (a junkyard style sign maybe?), and maybe a change to the "scoreboards" at the bottom... is this something you might be able to help with? Agent c (talk) 19:31, September 19, 2012 (UTC) ::We've got a new look on trial for our hole special series here but an improved banner I think would make it look better... Also any suggestions for the "scoreboard" would be awesome. Agent c (talk) 23:56, September 19, 2012 (UTC)

Canceled Games[]

Hi Mark Having some trouble coming up with a front page logo for our new canceled games portal... Any ideas?

Roterende afbeeldingen[]

Mark (talk) 23:07, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

Mordor[]

Hi Mark, Veronica's page is probably not a good spot for it. Better if you create a blog and then add it to the "Community news" category. That will give it front page exposure. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 11:23, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

News Item[]

Added your blog to our breaking new category so you get frontpage exposure. Agent c (talk) 14:31, August 7, 2015 (UTC)

Challenge with sliders[]

Hi Mark, haven't seen you for a while. I have a challenge for you and the technical team to see if you can figure out a way how to achieve a certain effect I'm looking for. I'm working on a new front page for the wiki, you can see it here: Portal:NewFrontPage. Admittedly its built by mostly reverse engineering the current one (with a few more things built in). I don't have any Lua knowledge. As you can see there's a nice lovely slider, which we're looking to keep. What we have on our current front page is a "Featured Article" section. One of the goals of the redesign is to get rid of a lot of the boxes full of text, but we want to be able to continue to spotlight an article. We could have a separate section, but another goal is to slim it down. What I'd like to do is basically have the 4th image in the slider be a rotational image, changing each day. The "easy way" would be to create 366 different sliders, each differing by 1 image. Although I could do that with what we have currently, that creates a maintenance nightmare for those occasional times where we'll want to change one of the "permanent" images. I was hoping to be able to stick the slider into a template, and feed it a variable containing the image name, link and description to use for that day, but that didn't work when I tried it. I tried to instead transclude a page within the gallery tags so that the "fixed" image code could be pulled from elsewhere, but that didn't work. I've asked in the community council slack, and they've also hit a brick wall. They've tried using LUA to create the code that would go within a gallery, but apparently once its in those tags it stops getting processed. Can you think of any other way I might be able to get the effect I'm looking for? Agent c (talk) 00:39, August 9, 2016 (UTC) :Thanks Mark, you're a star! Took a little while for me to understand the code, but I think I've got it now, and I think I see a few more tools and tricks in there I can use. Agent c (talk) 13:22, August 9, 2016 (UTC) Thanks again Mark. I've got it implemented codewise on This page, I just need to fill it with some more data, but its great to see it working. Got another question with you. I've been playing with a ticker element Template:Ticker that I found on another wiki and modified to accept a page as parameter instead of text. I have dreams of turning this into a proper news ticker for news articles to help users discover new news articles. What I'd like to do is have the ticker update itself to help control the amount of work needed to maintain it. I've tried feeding it bloglists and categories with no joy. I've tried also a page with CategoryTree, but what upsets it there is a line breaks - you can see the attempt to feed a category tree here - it throws the text off centre, and doesn't display the other lines. (I was going to look into DPL instead of categorytree to be a bit more intelligent with it and limit it by date and category, but I understand from your support teams you don't like enabling this for performance reasons, and in any case, I would expect it to have the same issue with line breaks. Do you have any ideas how to solve this one? Is there's another list I can have dynamically update without line breaks, or if there's something I can do to filter out those annoying hidden characters? Agent c (talk) 23:54, August 11, 2016 (UTC) :Hi Mark. Looks like thats got it working fine in Firefox (mac) properly but Safari and Chrome (mac) still seems to reset the bar as soon as the text hits the end...
