Verdant-Air Wind Power was a subsidiary of GDA Fusion that operated the wind farm on Mount Desert Island.

Background[]

Ostensibly a division designed to advance the viability of wind power under Dr. Kelly Rydecker, Verdant-Air was actually a farce, designed to make GDA look good to senators and representatives vacationing in Maine and deflect attention from GDA's criminal poisoning of groundwater near their fusion plants. Rydecker was supposed to kick back, file reports, and collect her paycheck. It was all she was supposed to do, but she pursued the potential of wind power and determined that it could become a perpetually sustainable power.

Despite warnings from Vice President Julius Browne, she insisted on sending the report up the chain, to try and catch the attention of corporate. When they actually noticed the report and determined that wind power was not only a competitor for fusion but could undercut their attempts to maximize sales of household fusion generators, they promptly decided to dismantle the wind farm. Nothing could stand in the way of profit, least of all an environmentally-friendly, sustainable technology like wind power. The Great War prevented the company from achieving its goals.[1]

Appearances[]

Verdant-Air Wind Power appears only in the Fallout 4 add-on Far Harbor.
