Virgil's rifle is a unique variant of the Institute rifle that is added to Fallout Shelter with the 1.4 update.

Behind the scenes

The name is a reference to a gun of the same name in Fallout 4, which deals more damage to super mutants. It's given as a reward for completing the miscellaneous quest Virgil's Cure.
