Vivian O'Dell, also referred to as Vivi, was the manager of the Boston branch of Hubris Comics in 2077.

Background[]

As the manager, O'Dell was tasked with coordinating and overseeing the project to adapt the Silver Shroud radio series for television. Although the team was competent and exceptionally knowledgable about the content and target audience, they lacked experience in television as a medium, and Hubris hired a new producer, Aaron Babowski, to fill the gap.[1]

Almost immediately, a conflict began between the new producer and the lead writer of the series, Tina Hopkins. Attempting to be equitable, Vivian expressed understanding and was sympathetic to Tina's concerns, simultaneously encouraging her to be patient and as flexible as possible with the changes.[1]

Shortly thereafter, Vivian walked back on advocating for giving Babowski the benefit of the doubt when it was revealed he made a significant casting decision without any discussion, input, or agreement with the rest of the team. The lead writer was furious, appealing to Vivian to help, to do anything she could to reverse the decision. Babowski had signed a popular actress, Claire Redelle for the significant role of the Mistress of Mystery over long-time voice actress and close friend of the team, Shannon Rivers. Vivian promised Tina that she would fight the decision.[2]

When Vivian approached the producer about the change, stating that it was unacceptable, Babowski dismissed her concerns, unswayed by Tina's threat to quit the project or any of Vivian's reasoning. In response, Tina resigned. After Shannon learned she had been passed over for the role, Vivian had to relay the additional bad news to her that the corporate team had decided to replaced Shannon with the new actress in the radio show as well.[3][4]
