Never seen again

Follows-Chalk's ending "never seen again" if you support him to go seeing the civilsation.

It doesn't realy mean that he got killed or anything out in the wasteland, right? It simply just means that he was never seen again of his tribe.. atleast that is what I am hoping for is the truth. That was some weard logic that I should have denied a person to follow his dream!

Honestly easy to foul up

Follows-Chalk should have been flagged as Essential (and thus unkillable) until after he has made contact with the player. Given that there are two hostile tribals at the near end of the bridge, it's all too easy to assume that he's on the attack when he runs toward you -- and after you shoot him a few times, he really is on the attack. The rest of Honest Hearts is a screaming bore, a dull exercise in machine-gunning tribals, if you begin it that way. He should be kept alive at least until he has the chance to shout something like "Hold your fire, I'm on your side!" Wunengzi 07:33, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

"Essential" marked NPCs shall not go into my Fallout. But I agree that he can be mistaken as an enemy very easy because you've killed some White Legs right before he runs up to you.--Mr.Lexx(talk) 07:44, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
It's easy to see how people kill him by accident - he approaches the lone guy on top of the rock from directly behind, and kills him instantly; if you're not paying close attention, you'll see some bullets coming from a guy on top of the rock & open up without noticing his body immediately dropping. Also there's only one hostile on that side of the bridge, not two - at least that I saw (on Hard difficulty). 124.168.90.105 17:27, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, you said two hostiles at the NEAR end of the bridge - totally misread that (also one of those tribals had an A-M rifle in my game) 124.168.90.105 17:32, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
I think when I first saw him he took a laser shot meant for the guy he killed from behind, didn't turn hostile or anything though. Anyway why not just reload the autosave that was made a few minutes back when you left the southern passage? --CiaoGamer 07:54, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
I didn't actually shoot him - I saw him drop the hostile through my scope (I probably wouldn't have realised, otherwise - the body is not particularly noticeable from the bridge). I was just saying that seems to be why a lot of people fail & don't realise why: he's standing right behind a guy you're almost certainly going to shoot at. 124.168.90.105 19:06, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
Completely agreed. I killed him accidentally but didn't see anything out of the ordinary once I did (failed a quest but that's because I thought my caravan crew was supposed to live). So when I finally realised -- by coming to The Vault, of course -- that he was an essential character, I noticed I had no saves that were six hours of play behind me. Every tribe except for the Sorrows attacked me on sight. Basically, this DLC was spent on running and gunning through to get the Zion map and then fast travelling back to the Southern Passage... Wiki needs a warning!

I messed up considering my autosave, ok my bad. But this is just too stupid... I kill this guy, because he looks the same as the enemy, comes running towards me like the enemy, and gets caught in the blast/crossfire/hail of bullets... And then the whole DLC story is gone. I love Bethesda games, I really do, but this leads me to believe that someone dropped the ball... Anyway, enough ranting (Just had to get it out) Can someone who knows what they're doing add some sort of warning in the notes section of this article, the Joshua Graham article and the main article for the DLC? Because, if you're as stupid as me and mess up the autosave, (or the game does it itself) this DLC is pretty much useless...--84.202.229.48 18:58, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it's been in the article since the DLC came out.--Kingclyde 20:15, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Voice actor?

Anyone know who does the voice acting? It sounds familiar... --EHStormcrow 21:24, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Carry Weight Bypass

I don't know if this only works for him or not but I've just now discovered that with Follows-Chalk as a companion, I can give him a ton of stuff until he complains he can't hold anymore. Then I removed 5 of the Cave Fungi that I gave him and started giving him more stuff to carry and he would take it up to a point to where he wouldn't again. Then when I remove something from him later it still says 200/200. With this little glitch I have been able to get him to carry more stuff. I'm playing on PS3 with only the Honest Hearts add-on. This is a followers exploit, that you can do with any of them anywhere, its quit helpful ;) --Xa3MysteriousStranger 23:46, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Re-recruiting?

For some reason after recruiting waking cloud and firing her again, I can't recruit Follows-Chalk again. Is this a bug?

Third Slide?

Is there a third slide should Follows-Chalk die? If no one answers, I'll go do honest hearts next week and upload image if so.--Xaedra 04:41, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

Unable to Spawn

I've completed HH already, and wanted to run around the MOjave with Follows-Chalk once I finished it. However, everytime I spawn him, and go back into the game, he vanishes as soon as I close the console. Same happens with Waking Cloud Any solution? 99.179.118.123 06:45, November 20, 2012 (UTC) DrowningEmbers

No. The NPC in Honest hearts have a scripted "disable" command in their AI once the main quest is completed, so it is normal they disappear as soon as you close the console because they will immediately execute the disabling package each time you re-enable them. There is no simple way to keep them after the DLC main quest is completed.--Croquignol (talk) 20:01, November 21, 2012 (UTC)
