Emotes and inactivity

Hey Gunny, heard you've been wondering about why I added some of the out of scale emoticons. It's not a major issue but still I'd like you to know it from the horse's mouth. I explained it on the first discussion thread (linky!), but it's an embarrassingly old thread so it's understandable you don't remember. I did those as a trial run, the out of scale icons being placeholders for the definite ones in case they did get a positive reaction, and in case they didn't then I'd just remove the entries and thus no further work (such as the resizing of said icons) would be wasted. But as it turned out the aforelinked thread popped up, and I just put all plans regarding the emotes on hold till a consensus was reached, hence why said out of scale emotes remained on the list (including the unusable GNR one). In hindsight it staying for so many months was obviously a gross oversight, but then again in hindsight things seldom fail to be obvious. Still, I'm quite vexed that it went on for so long given that I was probably the most involved with emoticons, and I can't deny I'm at least partly to blame for the the lax condition. Fixing it up was literally at the top of my to-do list last month, for what it is worth (admittedly not much given my absence during said month). Which takes to another (again, utterly minor) topic, regarding my change to inactive status. It is my understanding that the definition of inactive was 6 months lacking in activity? I don't mean this in an accusatory nor outraged tone mind you, I was actually going to change it myself when I realized it was already done for me. I'm merely curious.
Limmiegirl Lildeneb Talk! ♪ 00:16, September 18, 2013 (UTC)

I was not wondering why you (or anyone for that matter) added over-sized emotes. Not sure where you heard that from. I really only cared that they're sized correctly, whoever had the time to fix them. I removed one (I think) after trying to resize it, when I realized you can't read it at the emote size. I took a look at a few others, but decided to leave it to someone better with image software. If you've resized the rest, thank you. As for moving you to inactive, you'll have to ask elsewhere, I did not do that. I have a special java script set to add an inactive tag on user profiles after 9 months. I usually go off of that. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 00:34, September 18, 2013 (UTC)

I see, doesn't really matter though since as I said it was definitely a minor point. I'm afraid I have to decline your thanks though, I haven't gotten around to resize them yet, since from the looks of it they weren't well received so they'll likely to be axed when the vote gets around. Regarding the inactive status, I did assume it was you who changed it, but it wasn't because of this assumption that I mentioned it to you, I mentioned it to you because you were the BC I happened to be writing to already when the thought cropped up. BTW does your JS count 9 months after what? Any edit at all, or after a mainspace one?
